Reindeer Feeding and Sami Culture in Tromso

The indigenous Sami are one of Norway's oldest ethnic groups, mostly living in Northern Norway with a deep bond to reindeer. To learn more about this unique culture, join the 3-hour Tromsø Arctic Reindeer tour.

Choose a morning or afternoon session, starting at 10:00 am or 1:00 pm. A team member will pick you up and take you on a 25-minute bus ride to the camp. Upon arrival, you'll see herds of reindeer, reminiscent of Christmas postcards. Enjoy a feeding session where you can interact closely with the reindeer—perfect for photos!

You can also try lasso throwing on a fake reindeer, a traditional way to gather wild ones. Afterward, gather in a Sami gamme to hear stories from reindeer herders and join in singing traditional Sami folk songs, or joik. Warm beverages will be provided during this cultural experience. For lunch, savor bidos, a reindeer meat stew, with vegetarian options available. After this enriching day, you will be dropped off in Tromsø.
