Set out on a captivating whale watching tour in Alta Fjord and discover the rich marine life of Northern Norway. During the winter months, Alta Fjord becomes a prime location for spotting various species of whales, including killer whales (orcas) and sperm whales.
The tour offers a rare opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, along with playful hourglass dolphins and porpoises. Although the winter chill is present, the chance to observe these majestic animals makes it worthwhile. You’ll be guided by an experienced captain who knows the best spots for whale sightings.
If weather conditions are challenging or if no whales are spotted within the first two hours, the tour may adapt by offering an exciting King Crab Tour as an alternative. Regardless of the outcome, the experience of navigating the fjord’s brilliant waters is sure to be memorable.

Additional Information
The minimum required number of participants are two persons. If you book for yourself, you can pay for two adult tickets or the tour is cancelled unless more people book the same tour at a later date. If you pay for two adult tickets, you will be refunded the extra ticket if more people join the same tour.
The tour starts from Fiskerihavna in Alta. You must arrive 30 minutes before departure. At the meeting point, you will be provided with warm boilersuits and life jackets. Once everyone is ready, you will board the boat with the captain.
We prioritize safety and never go on a tour if there is any risk that we cannot guarantee the safety of our guests. We offer flexible options such as rescheduling the tour for the next day, switching to a different experience, or refunding the tour.
