Long Reindeer Sledding, Feeding and Sami Culture

Imagine viewing the stunning snowy landscapes of Norway from a reindeer-drawn sled! You can experience this thrilling ride and much more when you book this cultural tour from Tromsø Arctic Reindeer. During the four hours you spend with the Sami, you will be able to learn more about their heritage and get time to spend with about 300 reindeers!
On the day of the tour, you will be picked up by one of the tour provider's staff, and will be taken for a short ride to the camp. When you reach the camp, you will be greeted by a large herd of reindeers!
Your adventure begins with an exciting 25 to 30-minute sled ride into the arctic wilderness. After the ride, it’s time for feeding the reindeers! These gorgeous animals are used to being around people and don’t mind being fed. Later, you can assemble at the Sami tent called lavvu for some delicious Norwegian food.
Once you’ve had a hearty meal, you can gather by the campfire and listen to stories of the authentic Sami people of Norway. The tour ends with a special performance of a traditional Sami folk song called joik. You will leave with amazing experiences of the day and the tunes of the joik ringing in your head.
The tour generally takes place from 10:00 am onwards. However, it is available in the afternoon on selected dates.
