On your next trip to Svanvik, unwind, relax, and experience the arctic way of living. Book your overnight stay at BIRK’s wilderness cabin!
What could be better than spending time at a wilderness cabin and living the authentic Arctic life? Book a cosy cabin by BIRK and experience the real arctic living the old fashion way. On your trip, you will get a chance to meet huskies, go sledding, view the breathtaking landscapes, enjoy a warm bonfire, sauna, and much more.
Guests will be picked up from the airport on Fridays between 11.00 and 11.30 am. Once you arrive at BIRK, you can check-in to your cabin. The wilderness cabin is located in the middle of the valley of Pasvik and was built for the forest workers in the valley. The organisers offer this for overnight tours with dogs during the winter season and rent it to guests who want to explore the forest on their own during the summer. These cabins do not have running water or electricity. Water is sourced from a stream running right outside, and the rooms are heated with wood-fired ovens. The cabins are designed to help you experience the authentic arctic way of life. The cabin has amenities such as a gas stove for cooking, a cosy bonfire, and a sauna.
Please note that guests are requested to clean the cabins before they check out or pre-book cleaning services. The organisers recommend that guests stay a night or two in their guesthouse at the base after the tour before they return to Kirkenes.
Participants must bring their sleeping bags or order duvets when they book the cabin. Wear warm clothing and don’t forget to get your cameras along.
