Explore the incredible Sami culture by joining the reindeer sledding and northern lights tour by Tromsö Arctic Reindeer.
Explore Norway's stunning winter landscape on a nighttime reindeer sledding adventure with Tromsø Arctic Reindeer. This unique tour offers a chance to learn about the indigenous Sami people and their culture while experiencing the beauty of snow-covered surroundings. If you’re lucky, you might also witness the spectacular northern lights.
Arrive at the pick-up point 15 minutes before departure for a 25-minute bus ride to the reindeer camp. Once there, you’ll board a sled for an unforgettable ride through the snowy landscape. After returning to the camp, you can feed a herd of around 300 reindeer and try lasso throwing (on a dummy).
Inside a candlelit gamme, enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, featuring bidos, a traditional Sami stew, along with warm drinks. Vegetarian options are available. After dinner, gather in a lavvu to warm by the fire, enjoy dessert, and listen to stories about Sami culture and the life of a reindeer herder. The evening concludes with a traditional Sami joik performed by your guide. If the sky is clear, you may even see the northern lights before heading back to the city.
Please wear warm clothes (at least two layers), gloves, a hat, and good winter boots.
