Explore the beauty of Norway's landscapes with Alaskan huskies for company! Book Villmarkssenter's husky trekking tour for an exciting hiking experience.

Trekking is more than just an outdoor activity—it's a perfect way to clear your mind and gain perspective. Imagine walking through sunlit birch woods with cheerful huskies by your side, enjoying untouched nature, and having lunch around a campfire. This experience allows you to immerse yourself in the moment and recharge your batteries. Join us in the wilderness and experience this adventure for yourself!

Upon arrival at our center, we’ll provide rubber boots and rain gear if needed. Then, our guide will lead you and some of our energetic huskies on a hike through the arctic wilderness. Our strong, trained dogs are usually rotated among guests, ensuring everyone has a chance to handle them while getting some exercise.

After a 1.5 to 2-hour hike, you'll enjoy a warm lunch in our Gamme to restore your energy. The meal includes Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish dish made from local ingredients, and a slice of our signature chocolate cake. A vegetarian option is available upon request. Following lunch, our guide will take you on a tour of our dog yard, sharing insights about our center, life with the dogs, and dog sled racing. You'll also have the opportunity to cuddle and play with our puppies!

  • Hiking through the arctic wilderness that surrounds our center. We do not usually provide a dog for each guest, as our dogs are strong and trained to pull. Most guests are happy to rotate and handle them. Be prepared for fun training!
  • Visit our puppy enclosure to play and take pictures with our future racing stars.
  • Delicious lunch by the open fire in our cozy Gamme – hut; Bacalao – a fish dish that is part of the traditional Norwegian cuisine, with roots from the Portuguese culture. Coffee and tea.

If you want to participate with younger children than 6 years, please contact us before booking.
Moderate difficulty: all participants must be able to trek uneven terrain while handling a dog.

Guiding, transfer (25-35 min. each way), rain clothes and rubber boots, hot lunch.

  • You are eligible to receive a full refund of the booking amount if you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
