Entrance ticket to the Telemark Art Museum & World Heritage Centre at Tinfos, Notodden.
Telemark Kunstmuseum and Verdensarvsenteret (Telemark Art Museum and the World Heritage Centre) are located on the site of the former Tinfos Paperworks, along the banks of the idyllic Tinn River and just five minutes walk from the majestic Heddalsvatnet Lake. It is a combined art gallery and historical museum set in one building, aiming to provide visitors with a holistic and thought provoking experience. The ground floor houses a relaxed café, a smaller gallery with historical artworks, and a large exhibition hall serving as a gallery with topical exhibits. In this large gallery, exhibits change regularly to showcase new select artists or topics, exploring both old and new forms of artistic expression. You can see information on the current or upcoming exhibits on www.nia.no/telemark-kunstmuseum/
To round off your visit, we highly recommend visiting the historical exhibit in the World Heritage Centre on the museum's upper floor. This exhibit showcases the unique history of the area, and how the groundbreaking innovations of the scientist-financier duo Birkeland and Eyde lay the foundation of the industrial development that eventually saw the area awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
The exhibit frames the greater context of the museum and its highlighted themes.
Opening hours 12:00-16:00, Tuesday to Sunday
