Take a snowmobile trip deep into the Arctic landscape of the Pasvik Valley. This guided tour includes a scenic ride, picnic lunch in a wilderness cabin, full thermal gear, and pickup directly from Thon Hotel or Scandic in Kirkenes.
Begin your Arctic experience with pickup from Thon Hotel or Scandic in Kirkenes. After a short drive to the snowmobile basecamp, your guide will provide a safety briefing and help you suit up with insulated gear including overalls, helmet, boots, and gloves.
Once equipped, you’ll head out into the vast Pasvik Valley, a region known for its remote forests and frozen lakes. Riding through snow-covered terrain near the Russian border, you’ll follow your guide along prepared tracks and open wilderness. Two people share each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch drivers during the journey.
Midway through the tour, you’ll stop at a simple wooden cabin in the forest for a picnic lunch and a hot drink. After the break, continue the ride back through the Arctic landscape before returning to the basecamp. A transfer returns you to your hotel in Kirkenes by early afternoon.
Drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license. Passengers must be at least 10 years old. Solo driving is possible for an additional fee. The tour runs from January to April, departs at 09:30, and lasts approximately 4 hours. Dress in warm layers under the provided gear.
