Climb the Knaben via ferrata – a moderately challenging mountain route with panoramic views and multiple climbing options. In parts of the route you can choose more challenging options.
Choose a guided experience, rent gear, or use your own equipment. Suitable for both first-timers and experienced climbers.
Close to Knaben farm in southern Norway, the via ferrata offers easy access, solid rock surfaces, and a well-established return trail. The experience starts with a 10-minute hike from the main road to the entry point. The initial climb takes you 80 vertical meters to the top of the first wall, then continues along a 600-meter mountain trail leading to the upper section.
At the top wall, you can choose between three final routes of varying difficulty – moderate, demanding, or very demanding. For those who prefer a shorter or less exposed experience, an escape route is available after the first wall.
The descent follows a marked blue trail down to the main road, with a 1.1 km walk back to BaseCamp. This tour offers full flexibility: climb with a guide and included equipment, rent gear and go on your own, or bring your own setup. For non-climbers, a separate hiking trail leads to the summit to meet the rest of the group.
Tour duration: 3–5 hours depending on group size, fitness, and route selected. Escape route available after the first section. A hiking trail to the summit is available for non-climbing companions.

Experience the joys and thrills of mountain climbing in a safe way. Knaben Via Ferrata is located at Knaben G^ård, just below the tourist and cabin destination Knaben, approximately halfway between Kristiansand and Stavanger.
