Begin your Arctic experience in central Tromsø, where you’ll meet your guide and group at the Northern Norway Travel Shop before setting off in a Mercedes Sprinter minibus. This small group tour (max. 15 people) is designed to give everyone personal attention and optimal chances of witnessing the northern lights.
The destination for the night depends on the latest weather forecasts, as your guide and driver work together to find the best skies—away from light pollution and deep in Norway’s wilderness. Once a suitable location is found, you’ll gear up with a thermal suit and gather around a crackling campfire.
While waiting for the aurora, enjoy a hot local reindeer stew (vegetarian option available), warm drinks, and roast marshmallows over the fire. Your guide will share stories, scientific facts, and local legends related to the northern lights, ensuring a rewarding evening even if conditions are uncertain.
The experience includes a professional photo portrait with the aurora, plus downloadable digital photos from the night. Expect a flexible route and pace—nature sets the schedule.

Warm base layers, sturdy boots, gloves, and hats are essential. There are no toilets en route after departure. This activity may involve walking in cold and icy terrain. Children under 8 are not permitted on the public tour, but private tours are available.
