5-Day Guided Sea Kayaking Tour with Basecamp Herøy

A 5-day guided sea kayaking tour along the scenic Helgeland coast, including overnight stays at Sandvær and Husvær, cultural heritage guiding, and all transport and equipment.
The trip starts at the ferry pier in Søvik. The trip goes to Brasøy where the trip planning is reviewed and where the kayaks are prepared and launched.
You experience the archipelago and the Perfect Paddling Paradise a couple of hours before arriving in Sandvær. Here you will stay overnight in dormitories and be served local meals.
On day 2, the paddle trip heads towards Lånan where you experience the outback with its unique coastal cultural history of the fish farmer and the realm of the eider.
On day 3, you head towards Sørvær and in Skålvær you will receive guidance and a tour of the old trading post. On day 4, you are in the Husvær and Brasøy areas and experience the paddling eldorado. On day 5, you head towards Herøy where the trip ends and you take the ferry back to Søvik where the trip started.

Participants should be in good physical condition and comfortable on the water. The tour runs with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 participants. Daily routes may be adjusted due to weather. Additional food or drink beyond the stated meals is not included.

Day 1, Wednesday:
13:30 – Meeting point at Søvik ferry terminal. We take the car ferry from Søvik to Brasøy.
Packed lunch and drinks provided during the journey.
15:00 – Arrival at Brasøy by ferry. Transport of people and luggage.
16:00–20:00 – Distribution of equipment and paddle to Sandvær, where we will stay (approx. 10 km).
21:00 – Dinner and dessert.
Overnight stay (2 nights) in shared rooms.
Day 2, Thursday:
08:00 – Breakfast and preparation of packed lunches.
10:00–19:00 – Archipelago paddling toward the outer islands, visiting the eider colony and down harvesting site at Lånan (approx. 20 km).
Guided tour with local fisher-farmers and insight into the coastal culture at Lånan.
21:00 – Dinner and dessert.
Day 3, Friday:
08:00 – Breakfast and preparation of packed lunches. Check-out.
10:00–19:00 – Today's paddle: Sørvær–Skålvær–Husvær (approx. 20 km).
Nature and cultural history guiding on the coast at Skålvær.
20:00 – Dinner and dessert.
Overnight stay (2 nights) in double rooms at Husvær.
Day 4, Saturday:
08:00 – Breakfast and preparation of packed lunches.
10:00–19:00 – "The Perfect Paddling Paradise" – from Husvær to Brasøy (approx. 20 km).
21:00 – Dinner and dessert.
Day 5, Sunday:
08:00 – Breakfast and preparation of packed lunches. Check-out.
11:00–15:00 – Paddling through the archipelago and natural maze from Husvær to Herøy (approx. 12 km).
16:30 – Departure by ferry from Herøy to Søvik. Trip debrief and conclusion.
17:10 – Arrival at Søvik.
