Join a guided walk through the town of Mo i Rana and discover the stories that have shaped this Arctic Circle community. In just over an hour, you’ll get insights into Sami contributions, early education, dramatic events like the town's last execution, and the transformation brought by industry.
Your local guide will take you through key places and moments – from the establishment of Mo Church and the first school in Northern Norway, to the rise of Norsk Jernverk and today’s thriving business sector. Along the way, you’ll learn about life at 66° north, and how geography, culture, and climate shape the region.
Mo i Rana is the second-largest town in Nordland, surrounded by mountains and near Svartisen Glacier. With a deep history, yet relatively young as a town, it offers a unique mix of old and new. This tour offers a deeper understanding of how the town grew from a remote settlement to a vital part of modern Norway.

The hike takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Guiding normally takes place in Norwegian, but can be taken in English or German, if desired.
Tours run from 2 April to 30 September at 12:00, 17:00, and 19:00.
