We warmly welcome you onboard for a unique whale- and bird safari experience on the majestic Alta Fjord. During this five-hour adventure +, you will not only witness Norway’s spectacular wildlife up close but also enjoy the comfort and hospitality of our crew.
As we head out onto the fjord, you’ll be surrounded by the stunning Arctic coastal landscape. Each autumn, the Alta Fjord becomes a natural gathering point for herring, attracting large pods of whales. This is one of the best places in Northern Norway for whale watching, where orcas, humpback whales, and fin whales are frequent visitors – offering breathtaking opportunities for observation and photography.
The wildlife experience doesn’t stop there – keep your eyes on the skies! The majestic White-Tailed Eagle, known as the “lord of the skies,” rules this region and can often be spotted soaring above. Alongside, you may encounter a wide variety of seabirds that thrive in this rich ecosystem.
Our boat MS Lagertha is heated and equipped with comfortable indoor seating, as well as a spacious outdoor deck for those who wish to get even closer to nature. Whether you prefer to watch from the warmth of inside or feel the fresh Arctic breeze on the deck, you will be perfectly placed for unforgettable encounters.
Join us on this extraordinary journey to explore the magic of the Alta Fjord, where the wonders of the sea and sky meet.
This tour runs daily from November to early February. The boat has both indoor and outdoor spaces for viewing, but guests should dress warmly for the Arctic conditions. Bringing a dry bag for valuables and a camera or smartphone is recommended to capture the stunning wildlife and scenery.
