Join an exciting ATV safari through the scenic landscapes of Kautokeino and get an authentic introduction to Sami culture. The tour begins at Thon Hotel Kautokeino and takes you to a large lavvu, where you'll learn about traditional Sami tent customs and their significance.
At the lavvu, you’ll get the chance to test your skills in lasso throwing, a key skill in reindeer herding, with a prize for the best thrower. Traditional Sami food and drinks will be served, and your guide will share stories and insights about the Sami way of life.
This tour is perfect for adventure seekers and culture enthusiasts alike. It includes full safety equipment and training in ATV riding. The tour is conducted in a safe environment, with two people per ATV, though there is an option to ride solo for an additional fee.
The tour is available from July 1 to October 15 and lasts between three and four hours. It departs from Thon Hotel Kautokeino and requires a minimum of four participants.
The guided experience is available in Norwegian, Sami, and English. The price per person is 3,295 NOK, with an additional charge of 1,000 NOK for those who prefer to ride their own ATV.
Participants should wear warm outerwear, wool underlayers, wool socks, mittens, a scarf, a hat, and warm shoes to ensure comfort during the experience.
