Fyksesund RIB safari from Øystese

Fyksesund, the only fjord arm in Hardangerfjord without road access, offers a journey back in time as you explore its enchanting landscapes. Departing from Øystese, the RIB tour takes you through the main fjord before entering the spectacular Fyksesund.

Inside this narrow fjord arm, you’ll be surrounded by towering 1,000-meter cliffs. The captain will make several stops, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery while sharing fascinating stories about the fjord and the people who once lived here.

Fyksesund is home to numerous waterfalls, and we’ll get close enough for you to feel the refreshing mist. At the end of the fjord, we’ll stop outside Botnen, a roadless village steeped in history and surrounded by an authentic cultural landscape.

Wear weather-appropriate shoes or boots (windproof and warm for cold days, waterproof for rain). Layer up with warm clothing under the flotation suit. Bring a buff/scarf and warm gloves or mittens for chilly days, and waterproof gloves for rainy weather. Don’t forget sunglasses for sunny days.
