Embark on a hike to Mount Keipen, where you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular 360-degree view over fjords, islands, mountains, and lakes. Starting at 323 meters above sea level, the trail ascends to 496 meters, offering a moderate climb through gently rising terrain.
The entire hike covers approximately 4 km, with both the ascent and descent taking around one hour each. As you pass the treeline, the scenery unfolds with panoramic views over Toppsundet and a dramatic drop down to Kasfjord. Along the way, you'll pass by serene small lakes and, depending on the season, have the opportunity to taste wild blueberries, lingonberries, black currants, or the unique Arctic cloudberries.
Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife such as eagles or snow grouse, which can often be spotted during the hike. Your knowledgeable guide will share insights and stories about the region and its nature, making this a truly enriching outdoor experience.
If fewer than 8 people are booked for the tour, it may be canceled. Bring shoes with a good grip, preferably waterproof, as some areas may be swampy. There is no shelter at the summit, so dress appropriately for the weather and bring an extra layer in case of wind.
