Arriving at the Eagle’s Nest trailhead, perched 640 meters above sea level, you’ll embark on your hike before the day's crowds, ascending towards the iconic Kjerag boulder. The trail presents a stimulating challenge, but as you approach the final 2 kilometers, the terrain becomes gentler, allowing you to fully engage with the surrounding natural beauty.
Reaching the edge of the massif, you find yourself on a towering 1000-meter-high cliff, with the majestic 42-kilometer-long Lysefjord stretching below – a moment of triumph and awe. Here, atop the Kjerag boulder, suspended 984 meters above the fjord, you may stand if you dare and conditions permit, embraced by the raw, dramatic scenery that defines Fjord-Norway.
