Immerse yourself in the transformative beauty of Fjord-Norway as you journey through its vibrant green landscapes in the spring or witness the mesmerizing palette of autumn colors. This unique hiking experience to Kjerag offers an intimate encounter with nature's serene magnificence, combined with the thrill of adventurous trails and the breathtaking grandeur of panoramic fjord views.

Your adventure begins with the early morning light, as your professional guide picks you up.
The journey to the trailhead itself is a visual treat, offering glimpses of Norway’s picturesque landscapes during a 3-hour drive. Arriving at the Eagle’s Nest trailhead, perched 640 meters above sea level, you’ll embark on your hike before the day's crowds, ascending towards the iconic Kjerag boulder. The trail presents a stimulating challenge, but as you approach the final 2 kilometers, the terrain becomes gentler, allowing you to fully engage with the surrounding natural beauty.

Reaching the edge of the massif, you find yourself on a towering 1000-meter-high cliff, with the majestic 42-kilometer-long Lysefjord stretching below – a moment of triumph and awe. Here, atop the Kjerag boulder, suspended 984 meters above the fjord, you may stand if you dare and conditions permit, embraced by the raw, dramatic scenery that defines Fjord-Norway. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch break in this unparalleled setting, savoring the silence and the views.

The return hike to the Eagle’s Nest is a reflective 3-hour descent, completing a demanding but profoundly rewarding 12-kilometer trek with a total ascent of 800 meters. Throughout the journey, the presence of your professional guide ensures safety and support, providing hiking poles and crampons if needed, especially when the spring trek might still encounter snowy trails.

  • Experience the captivating transition of seasons in Fjord-Norway, from the awakening of spring greenery to the crisp, colorful ambiance of autumn.
  • Stand atop the legendary Kjerag boulder, a thrilling highlight that offers panoramic vistas of the Lysefjord, enhanced by the serenity and intimacy of a small group hike.
