Embark on a guided hike to Kjerag and discover the breathtaking beauty of Fjord-Norway's dramatic landscapes with Explore Lysefjorden. Traverse challenging trails, stand atop the famous Kjerag boulder, and enjoy panoramic views of the Lysefjord, all while experiencing the vibrant colors of spring or autumn.

Begin your day with an early pick-up by a professional guide who will take you on a scenic 3-hour drive to the Eagle’s Nest trailhead, set 640 meters above sea level. Here, you'll start your hike before the crowds arrive, climbing towards the iconic Kjerag boulder. The trail is both challenging and rewarding, with a gentler incline in the final stretch that allows you to fully appreciate the surrounding natural beauty.

As you reach the edge of the massif, you'll be greeted by the stunning sight of the Lysefjord stretching 42 kilometers below. For those who dare, standing atop the Kjerag boulder, suspended 984 meters above the fjord, is an unforgettable experience. Enjoy a relaxing lunch break while taking in the tranquility of this extraordinary location.

The hike back to the Eagle’s Nest is a reflective 3-hour descent, concluding a 12-kilometer trek that challenges and rewards in equal measure. Your guide is there throughout, providing support and safety, along with hiking poles and crampons if needed for snowy trails.

  • Witness the seasonal beauty of Fjord-Norway, from lush spring greenery to the vivid hues of autumn.
  • Conquer the Kjerag boulder and enjoy breathtaking, panoramic views of the Lysefjord.
  • Experience a guided hike with a small group, enhancing the serene and intimate feel of the adventure.

The hike to Kjerag is a strenuous 12-kilometer trek with an 800-meter ascent, requiring a good level of fitness and appropriate gear. Spring hikes may involve snow on the trails; the guide will provide necessary equipment like hiking poles and crampons to ensure safety.
